Eric Ettinger and the Ettinger Engineering Associates team are currently gearing up for the new NYC Building Code. Long in the making, the new code is already upon the local design community and being absorbed to implement the changes. As with all change there is an adjustment period, and in light of this, the current administration has generously provided a one year grace period, starting July 1, 2008 and ending July 1, 2009 during which an option is provided to use either the existing code or the new code. Playing mix and match between the two is not acceptable and the building department has already indicated, it is an all or nothing proposition. (PRWeb Jan 23, 2009)
